NICK ROWLAND'S TOP TRAVEL WRITING TIPS:
. Take photos to help with visual details - you don't always know what you might want to use when you get home, so the words in your journal may not be enough on their own.
. When you start to write your piece, just get it down in any shape or form - just let it flow out of you, then refine it by looking at the language and experimenting with what works and chop out what doesn't, then finally keep polishing it until you are happy with it.
For all budding travel writers - here's an exciting competition you may wish to enter (see also our COMPETITIONS page)
