Gill Johnson's, 'A Fine Day Out' is longlisted for the Fish short story competition

Fish Publishing is well known for writing competitions of which the winners are published in the annual Fish Anthology launched at the West Cork Literary Festival in July. This years' short story competition was judged by David Mitchell author of Cloud Atlas, number9dream, Ghostwritten, Black Swan Green and The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet. There was an overall entry of 1,900 stories of which 550 made the longlist and 145 stories the shortlist. The Fish website states that, '...over the years ... the quality of stories overall has risen.'

The final results will be announced on March 17th, 2012.
